PG Soft is best known for the compact Fortune Tiger and Fortune Ox slots and the Mahjong Ways series. Their portrait presentation suits a phone, but the games differ in more than their artwork. The tiger collects symbols through respins, the ox repeats spins until a payout, and mahjong tiles create sequences of cascades. Each feature has its own stopping condition and method of increasing an award.
Pocket Games Soft is the full name behind PG Soft. It develops games; the casino holds the account, runs promotions and handles payments. A PG logo identifies the product without explaining the rules of a registration offer attached to a player’s account.
How the portrait layout changes the playing area
The technical sheets for Fortune Tiger, Fortune Ox, Mahjong Ways 2 and Wild Bandito specify an optimal 1080 × 2340 resolution with a 19.5:9 aspect ratio. That is a tall display. Reels, the selected stake and controls fit into one vertical area, which suits holding a phone in one hand.
Supported platforms include iOS, Android, HTML5, Windows and MacOS. Portrait design does not restrict access to a smartphone or require a separate installation. On a computer, the game can occupy a narrow section of a wide screen. Spare space beside the reels does not add positions or change the number of winning combinations.
The official Mahjong Ways 2 card gives 13.4 MB for both full size and initial download. This describes the listed edition’s assets, rather than identical loading times on every connection. Being able to read the complete stake and reach the controls matters more than enlarging the artwork until its edges disappear.
Fortune Tiger keeps respinning while symbols are added
Fortune Tiger has three reels, three rows and five paylines. Its special feature can start randomly during an ordinary spin. The game selects one symbol, excluding Wild, and the field then contains only that selected symbol, Wilds and blank spaces.
At least one additional qualifying symbol produces another respin. Symbols already collected stay in position. When no further symbols are added, the sequence ends and awards are calculated. The continuation condition concerns a fresh symbol, rather than the player deciding to press the button again.
The x10 multiplier applies when all reel symbols are involved in a win. It increases the qualifying combination’s award. It is not ten free spins or a reward for filling only a few positions. A combination worth eight stakes would become eighty stakes after that multiplier. The calculation multiplies the combination award, rather than the account’s entire balance.
Wild substitutes for ordinary symbols. A qualifying full field can therefore include Wilds instead of requiring nine identical pictures. Having only three reels makes the layout straightforward, but feature activation and added symbols remain random. A small grid does not itself make the next outcome predictable.
Fortune Ox uses a different stopping condition
Fortune Ox uses ten paylines and uneven reel heights: three positions on each outer reel and four in the centre. Its layout is 3–4–3, rather than the tiger’s square. The extra central row changes symbol positions without turning paylines into thousands of ways to win.
During the Fortune Ox Feature, the outer reels share the same symbols and all reels respin until a win appears. The tiger’s sequence can stop because nothing new was added; the ox’s described feature ends around a paying result. A shared x10 multiplier is therefore insufficient to explain how the two features behave.
Fortune Ox applies x10 when one symbol, with or without Wilds, occupies every reel position. Respins until a win do not guarantee a profit across the entire cash session. A feature’s award and the outcome of previously paid ordinary spins are different amounts.
The technical sheet labels the game medium volatility. That helps describe its payout variation without prescribing a fixed order of results. A run of unsuccessful ordinary spins does not promise imminent activation of Fortune Ox Feature.
Mahjong Ways 2 uses four cascade multiplier steps
Mahjong Ways 2 has five reels in a 4–5–5–5–4 layout, offering 2,000 ways to win. Symbols cascade after a paying combination. A further win in the same sequence receives a higher multiplier.
| Award in the sequence | Base game | Free spins |
|---|---|---|
| First | x1 | x2 |
| Second | x2 | x4 |
| Third | x3 | x6 |
| Fourth and later | x5 | x10 |
Each step applies to its own award. If four base-game combinations are worth €1 each before multiplication, they pay €1 + €2 + €3 + €5 = €11. Multiplying all four original awards by the final step would incorrectly produce €20. These figures explain the calculation order without assigning a probability to that sequence.
Gold-plated symbols appear on reels two, three and four. A gold symbol involved in the previous win becomes Wild after the new symbols cascade down. A gold frame by itself does not satisfy the condition: the symbol must have participated in a winning combination.
Three Scatters start ten free spins, and each additional Scatter adds two. During the feature, ordinary symbols on the third reel appear in gold; Wild and Scatter are excluded from that rule. Free spins can retrigger.
The original Mahjong Ways is a different game with five four-row reels. Three Scatters award twelve free spins there. Both releases use symbol transformations and increased awards, but familiar tile artwork does not make their rules interchangeable. The number 2 in the title identifies a separate release, rather than doubling every reward from the original.
Wild Bandito increases its multiplier through paying cascades
Wild Bandito presents five four-row reels and 1,024 ways to win. Gold frames also appear on the middle reels. A framed symbol that wins becomes Wild after the cascade. Wild substitutes for ordinary symbols, excluding Scatter.
Here the multiplier increases by one after a paying cascade. It does not follow Mahjong Ways 2’s four preset steps. A newly paid base-game spin starts from x1. One long cascade and several separate short spins therefore need not produce the same increase.
Three Scatters trigger twelve free spins, with two more for each extra Scatter. The feature starts at x1 and paying cascades raise the multiplier further. Symbols on the third reel receive gold frames, except for Wild and Scatter. This combines accumulation with transformations, rather than placing new artwork over Fortune’s respin rules.
Recent formats expand the field or build football multipliers
Farmstead Fortune, released on 3 August 2026, starts with a 5 × 5 field. Three Scatters open three bonus spins, expanding the grid to 7 × 7. The feature offers multipliers up to x100. A Level-Up symbol transforms symbols into the next higher-paying type.
This changes both field size and symbol value. The enlarged grid and the number of bonus spins describe different parts of the feature. More positions do not mean that each square separately pays a stake. Awards depend on the resulting combinations and active multipliers.
Touchdown Wins was released on 18 August 2026. It has three reels with heights of 2–3–2. Eight free spins can start randomly, and multipliers within that feature reach x2048. Wins activate multipliers, while the bonus doubles them.
These releases show why PG Soft is broader than the Fortune series or an exclusively Asian theme. Even a small football slot has a different multiplier progression from the tiger and ox. The x2048 figure describes a feature multiplier, rather than automatically defining the complete round’s maximum award.
RTP and hit rate measure different things
The four game sheets updated on 8 July 2025 publish both return from turnover and the frequency of paying results. All four editions are labelled medium volatility.
| Game | RTP | Hit rate | Max win |
|---|---|---|---|
| Fortune Tiger | 96.81% | 23.15% | 2,500x |
| Fortune Ox | 96.75% | 21.32% | 2,000x |
| Mahjong Ways 2 | 96.95% | 29.90% | 100,000x |
| Wild Bandito | 96.73% | 28.74% | 25,000x |
RTP concerns money staked, rather than the share of spins that win. Fortune Tiger’s 96.81% does not mean a win in almost every round. A hit rate counts a paying result, which can return less than the stake. It is therefore different from the probability of making a net profit.
Fortune Tiger’s overall RTP consists of 64.96 percentage points from the base game and 31.85 points from its special feature. These are contributions within the complete mathematical model. The 31.85 figure is not a feature-trigger probability and should not be added to the overall RTP again.
Fortune Tiger and Fortune Ox differ by 0.06 percentage points of RTP. At equal €1,000 turnover, that represents €0.60 in theoretical return. It does not make a short tiger session necessarily more profitable. Feature behaviour and the selected total stake remain separate considerations.
An advertised ceiling is different from a simulated maximum
Mahjong Ways 2’s technical sheet separately records a 1,708x maximum from a simulation of one billion spins. It also lists a substantially higher advertised ceiling. These are different document fields: the largest result in a particular simulation and the promoted maximum.
Wild Bandito shows the same distinction. Its simulated maximum is 2,525x, while its advertised ceiling appears in the comparison table. Fortune Tiger and Fortune Ox have matching figures in the two fields. Every Maximum Win label should not be treated as the largest outcome obtained in the studio’s simulation.
Running one billion simulated spins does not make a rare outcome compulsory. One maximum observation also gives no timetable for an award. For a cash calculation, the multiplier relates to the winning spin’s total stake. At €0.40, a 100x award pays €40 before subtracting the cost of that stake.
Total stakes, Turbo and autoplay stopping conditions
The documented default ranges differ: €0.25–250 for Fortune Tiger, €0.20–200 for Fortune Ox, €0.20–50 for Mahjong Ways 2 and €0.20–20 for Wild Bandito. These are EUR defaults in particular technical sheets, rather than one supplier range valid across all casinos and currencies.
Mahjong Ways 2 and Wild Bandito use a base-bet factor of twenty. A €0.01 bet size at level three gives a €0.60 total stake. Fortune Tiger uses five paylines: a €0.05 size at level three gives €0.75. The size displayed within the settings can therefore be only one part of the complete spin price.
Turbo shortens base-game reel animations without increasing RTP. More paid rounds can fit into the same time, so their count and total stake still matter. Two hundred spins at €0.60 generate €120 turnover; the remaining balance depends on awards received.
The technical sheets let Auto Spin end after a selected number of rounds. Additional conditions stop it after a specified balance decrease, balance increase or single large win. A balance change is measured against the start of that autoplay series. This controls a particular sequence without setting a daily account-wide spending limit.
Demo credits, cash play and casino promotions
A demo can explain respins, the multiplier sequence and the complete stake. Play credits do not transfer into a casino cashier. A quickly triggered demo feature also does not establish the order of subsequent cash results.
Mahjong Ways 2’s built-in free spins start from symbols. Casino-awarded free spins can instead come from registration or a promotion. The second kind depends on expiry, the selected game and the operator’s wagering rules. Mixing those meanings of bonus makes it harder to understand why an award appears on a separate promotional balance.
Max Bet selects the maximum bet size and level. It does not purchase a chosen symbol result and is not merely a continuation button after reading the paytable. The complete stake matters before a new paid spin, particularly after opening a different currency wallet or another game.
The company, MGA supply licence and restricted markets
PG Soft was founded in 2015 and appeared at ICE London in 2017. Its company address is Valletta Buildings, South Street, Valletta, Malta. It operates with international teams and advertises support for more than forty languages. PG Soft participated in ICE London and iGB Live during 2017–2019. Its teams bring together developers, artists and specialists in game mathematics.
The MGA register lists Pocket Games Software Limited as licensed under MGA/B2B/435/2017. This is a B2B Critical Supply authorisation for casino content. In September 2020, the MGA suspended the authorisation over ownership-change documents and missing industry returns. That historical decision is different from the present Licensed register status.
The company describes testing by BMM and Gaming Associates. The technical sheets for Fortune Tiger, Fortune Ox, Mahjong Ways 2 and Wild Bandito name Gaming Associates as the laboratory. Game-maths testing and permission for a casino to accept a player serve different purposes. The supplier’s authorisation number does not determine document checks or withdrawal terms on an individual account.
PG Soft’s official restrictions include the United States, Australia, Israel, Iran, Singapore, Malaysia, Taiwan, Hong Kong, Macau, the UAE and North Korea. These are access restrictions rather than interface-language categories. An interface translation does not change access restrictions. Residence and the operator serving the account determine access to cash play.
