AvatarUX makes slots in which a win can change the playing field. Symbols disappear, reels get taller and the next combination may use a different multiplier. PopWins is its best-known idea, but the collection also includes sticky-symbol games, fixed paylines and separate Hold & Win rounds.

The distinction matters when choosing a title. A multiplier may belong to an entire sequence or just one position. Reel growth can unlock free spins, while another game pays on five fixed lines. A familiar Pop name tells you less than the actual rules for replacing symbols and calculating awards.

How a PopWins spin continues

In the standard PopWins arrangement, each winning symbol is removed and replaced by two new symbols. That reel gets taller and the game checks the updated field for wins. Further winning combinations repeat the replacement process. The sequence stops when there are no new wins.

These are stages within one paid spin. A reel spin and each subsequent symbol update are different events. The extra stages provide another chance to make a combination, but a moving animation is not itself an additional payout. The symbols must satisfy the paytable.

A larger field offers more possible ways to form a win. The ways count does not tell you the probability of winning. That also depends on symbol frequencies and the game’s mathematical model. Two titles with the same reel height can have different RTP settings, volatility and bonus triggers.

What MultiPop, StickyPop and related mechanics change

Changes to the playing field
Mechanic Rule and example
MultiPop A replacement symbol receives a multiplier attached to its position. Another win at that position raises the multiplier by one. It first appeared in Zombie aPOPalypse, followed by titles including Kitty Poppins and Juicy Pop.
StickyPop Winning symbols stay in place while the other symbols are replaced. Pop O’Gold can reach five rows in the base game and seven during free spins.
Xpops A removed symbol is replaced by between one and four symbols, rather than the standard two-symbol replacement.
Popscade Two new symbols cascade down from above and the reel grows. GemPops combines this with Xpops.
ZapReel A horizontal reward reel sits above the main field. A qualifying win activates its rewards. LooneyPop can offer synced reels, a multiplier and a reel filled with the winning symbol.
Infinity Stacks Matching stacks merge during cascades. Attached multipliers increase qualifying line awards. Vegas Fortune uses this approach.

With MultiPop, the position matters: a cell’s multiplier should not automatically be applied to the whole field. With StickyPop, the important information is which symbols are already fixed and which positions remain available. These systems change how a sequence develops, rather than merely changing its appearance.

ZapReel adds another part of the screen to follow. A displayed reward and an activated reward are different things. The available functions belong to the individual title; LooneyPop’s set of rewards does not describe every game with a horizontal reel.

PopRocks: the vault and increasing multiplier

PopRocks arrived on 7 April 2020. Reels grow to seven symbols high, with up to 33,614 ways. Seven collected pop symbols add one to the multiplier. Once the columns reach seven rows, Bonus Mode introduces a random Wild, adds two per seven collected symbols and replaces each removed symbol with one new symbol instead of two.

The headline specifications are 96.4% RTP, Super High volatility and a 72,188× maximum. The multiplier description also contains the conflicting figure 72,1888×. That spelling does not establish a higher payout cap than the specification card.

Very high volatility describes a wide spread of outcomes. It does not predict the number of empty spins or when a substantial chain will arrive. The vault records progress within the mechanic, rather than a timetable for future wins.

CherryPop: reel growth, free spins and a paid bonus

Released on 6 October 2020, CherryPop starts at 5×3 and grows to six rows. All five reels reaching that height awards five free spins. The bonus can reach nine rows and 59,049 ways. Its multiplier starts at 2×; reaching maximum height adds three, followed by four per subsequent PopWin.

Gamble Wheel risks the awarded bonus for up to 16 free spins. Buy Bonus costs 75× the stake where available. The published maximum is 20,000×. Paying for entry buys the feature, not that maximum result.

Different RTP versions of the same game

Several AvatarUX titles have multiple mathematical versions. CherryPop has 96%, 94% and 90.5% RTP configurations. These are three settings for the same game. Its name, graphics and central features can look identical, so appearance alone does not identify the installed version.

Calculations for CherryPop’s configurations
RTP Theoretical difference between turnover and payouts
96% 4% of turnover: €40 on total stakes of €1,000.
94% 6% of turnover: €60 on total stakes of €1,000.
90.5% 9.5% of turnover: €95 on total stakes of €1,000.

Turnover means all stakes added together, rather than the deposit. Reusing the same balance for several bets increases turnover. Total stakes of €1,000 do not necessarily mean €1,000 was deposited.

The calculation describes an expectation over a large number of outcomes. An individual session need not lose exactly €40, €60 or €95. Nevertheless, the settings make a meaningful difference: the theoretical loss share at 90.5% is 2.375 times the share at 96%. A higher RTP reduces that share without making the game profitable.

A feature purchase also scales with the selected stake. CherryPop’s 75× entry costs €15 at a €0.20 stake, or €75 at a €1 stake. Comparing that purchase only with the price of one normal spin hides the size of the commitment: it immediately spends the equivalent of 75 ordinary stakes.

5 Power Joker: a compact field and medium volatility

Released on 9 October 2026, 5 Power Joker has a 3×3 field, five paylines, Medium volatility and a 5,000× maximum. RTP options are 96.14%, 94.19% and 90.79%. A Wild expands when a line win is registered; three Diamond Scatters pay 20× independently of paylines.

The jackpot feature reveals 18 orbs. Three matching orbs determine the award, upgrades raise its tier and three bombs end the round without a prize. Royal Spin guarantees expanding Wilds, rather than a winning combination.

Pots of Power and its separate Hold & Win field

Dragon’s Blessing uses 25 paylines and offers Normal or Extreme mode. Hold & Win opens an 8×7 field. Red boosts coins, Yellow applies up to 5× and Blue turns coins into Mini, Minor or Major. Impact areas grow to 3×3; filling the field awards Grand.

The card gives RTP options of 96.07%, 94.03% and 90.52%, a 10,000× limit and 2 October 2026 release date. However, an internal heading says Mummy’s Treasure. These figures come from the Dragon’s Blessing page and should not be transferred to another title in the series.

The studio’s history and present contact locations

AvatarUX began releasing games through the Yggdrasil network in 2019. Lilith’s Inferno was its first title, and its design team worked in Hong Kong at that time. PopWins followed in 2020. Its own remote gaming server launched in 2021 to support game operation and integrations with casino operators.

Its awards include CasinoBeats Game Innovation in 2021, EGR Slot Supplier Rising Star in 2022 and CasinoBeats Game Mechanic of the Year in 2023. SlotsWise added Slot Game Developer of the Year in 2024. These are industry awards, rather than measurements of player returns.

Current contact locations include Birkirkara in Malta, Kraków in Poland and Noida in India. The Maltese address is 56 Innovation Centre, Level 1, Tower Street, Swatar, Birkirkara, BKR 4011. The historical Hong Kong operation should not be mistaken for a complete list of present offices.

Epic88, supplier permissions and regional availability

AvatarUX’s legal entities
Company and market Published permission
Epic88 Limited, Sweden Spelinspektionen 23Si1469, issued on 7 June 2023 for gambling software.
Epic88 Malta Limited, Romania ONJN Class 2, L2254352Y001647, issued on 31 March 2025.
Epic88 Malta Limited, Malta MGA Recognition Notice RN/024/2025, issued on 9 July 2025.

A Recognition Notice recognises an authorisation from another suitable jurisdiction for activities in or from Malta. It is a distinct document. Treating it as an ordinary direct MGA licence with a different number would be inaccurate.

Spelinspektionen also lists Epic88 Ltd in an ongoing supervision case concerning software supply. It examines compliance with the ban on supplying operators that lack the necessary Swedish licence. The case is marked ongoing; the published description contains no finding of a breach or fine.

A supplier’s permissions do not establish whether an individual casino can accept someone from a particular country. That depends on the operator’s permissions and local restrictions. For example, the February 2024 US launch of KokeshiPop was announced for Caesars Palace Online Casino in Michigan. It did not establish availability in every US state.

Playing on a phone and choosing a format

The studio uses its own responsive interface for desktop, tablet and mobile devices. Its technology supports localisation and multiple RTP versions. Published technical figures of over 1,000 integrations and 99.99% average uptime are labelled 2025. They do not describe an individual casino’s configuration or a player’s internet connection.

On a small screen, distinguish the total stake from a cell multiplier and a bonus counter. A prominent number may apply to only one part of the award. The controls need to leave the rules and current stake accessible; increasing the stake changes the price of the next paid action.

PopWins is a fit for someone interested in an expanding field and the development of one sequence. MultiPop focuses on individual positions, while StickyPop retains winning symbols. Power Joker offers more familiar line calculations. Understanding the rules and mathematical settings is a better basis for choosing between these formats than the headline maximum alone.

FAQ

Does a PopWins label always identify an AvatarUX game?

No. AvatarUX also makes this intellectual property available to other studios. The mechanic's name identifies how symbols work; the developer credit identifies who made that particular title.
