Wild Bandito review

Wild Bandito was released on 3 May 2021. This Mexican-themed PG Soft slot has five four-row reels. Its defining feature is the connection between gold frames and cascades. A winning framed symbol becomes Wild, while a further award raises the multiplier. Ordinary symbols on reel three automatically receive frames during free spins.

Águila: a band of three

The game description begins with a legend. Águila means “the eagle” in Spanish, and it is the name of a Mexican bandit team of three people operating along the country’s border. By day they pass themselves off as a touring mariachi band and perform from city to city. By night they rob gold mines and sell the gold for a huge sum. They are said to move so fast and quietly that nobody notices how all the gold vanishes in a blink.

The Mexican government has offered a cash reward of 30 million for their capture (the studio names no currency), dead or alive, yet it could not stop them: nobody knows the hideout. Townsfolk say that when the guitarrón, the large bass guitar of the mariachi, and the vihuela, a small five-string guitar, are heard at night, the Águila is on the move, and the music will lead you to them. Whoever captures all three collects the reward. This is a fictional gang: the capture reward belongs to the story and is not paid for reel combinations. The musicians conceal their work, but familiar instruments announce their arrival.

A mariachi skull, confetti and candles

The cover shows a skeleton in a white suit and a huge sombrero. With one hand he holds a guitar on his shoulder, straight out of the legend, and with the other he raises a revolver. Multicoloured confetti flies around, golden coins float, candles burn at the bottom, and the background is violet-pink with blue ribbons. In the launch note the studio calls the game lively, with a colourful backdrop and pretty confetti falling from the top of the screen.

The aesthetics recall the Mexican Day of the Dead, though the studio uses no such words: in the game’s texts it writes about Mexico, music and a band. The result is not gloomy horror but a bright comic style in which the skull smiles.

Twenty positions, 1,024 ways and gold frames

Five four-row reels provide twenty positions and 1,024 ways to win. Matching symbols must occupy adjacent reels, beginning at the far left. Three reels qualify; extending the combination onto reels four and five increases its payout. Wild substitutes for ordinary symbols, excluding Scatter. Matching symbols do not have to follow one straight payline.

The number of paying ways is calculated by multiplying matching symbol counts on consecutive reels. One matching symbol on reel one, three on reel two and two on reel three create 1 × 3 × 2 = 6 ways. The symbol payout is multiplied by six, then the active win multiplier applies. A match beginning only on the second reel does not meet the leftmost-reel requirement.

Gold frames can appear on reels two, three and four during any spin. A frame does not itself award money. The framed symbol must take part in a winning combination. After that award and the arrival of cascading symbols, it becomes Wild and can help the next cascade. A framed symbol that did not win does not trigger this transformation.

A multiplier that grows by one

The multiplier also operates in the base game. Each new paid spin starts at x1. After an award, winning symbols disappear, new symbols drop down and the multiplier rises by one. A further win in that chain receives x2, then x3 and so on. The cascade ends when no new paying combination forms. Each drop does not require another separate stake.

For example, three consecutive awards before multiplication could be €0.40, €0.60 and €1. They pay €0.40, €1.20 and €3, giving a €4.60 chain total. Multiplying all three original awards by the final x3 would be incorrect: the multiplier changes after each payout. If one cascade includes several paying ways, the multiplier increases once after that cascade’s combined award.

Twelve free spins and a gold third reel

Three Scatters anywhere trigger twelve free spins. Each extra Scatter adds two: four award fourteen, while five award sixteen. The feature can retrigger. These spins come from the game’s symbols; a casino promotion offering free spins is a separate arrangement.

All ordinary symbols on reel three receive gold frames during the feature. Wild and Scatter are excluded. Frames may also appear on reels two and four, but the guaranteed gold treatment applies specifically to reel three. All twelve middle-reel positions should therefore not be treated as automatically framed.

The feature starts at x1. A paying cascade increases the multiplier by one after the award and the arrival of new symbols. The starting x1 is assigned to the feature, whereas base-game rules assign it to each new paid spin. The next award depends on both the multiplier and the value of its winning combinations.

Bet size versus the complete spin price

The version 1.0 r935 technical sheet dated 8 July 2025 gives a base-bet factor of twenty. The full stake is 20 × Bet Size × Bet Level. Its documented sizes are 0.01, 0.05 and 0.1, with levels one through ten. A 0.01 setting does not by itself price the entire spin at one cent.

Complete-stake examples in EUR
Size and level Spin price
€0.01 × level 1 €0.20
€0.05 × level 2 €2
€0.10 × level 10 €20

The sheet’s default EUR range is €0.20–20, rather than a promise of identical limits in every currency wallet. Max Bet selects the highest size and level together. The complete price matters before starting a round, rather than only the last setting changed.

Turbo shortens ordinary-spin animations without increasing a combination’s payout. At an unchanged price, quicker rounds can raise turnover per minute: one hundred €2 spins stake €200. Awards return to the balance separately, so turnover is different from the final loss.

RTP, paying-result frequency and two maximum figures

The technical sheet gives 96.73% RTP and a 28.74% frequency of paying results. RTP measures money staked; hit rate measures results. An award can be smaller than the spin price, so 28.74% does not mean the same probability of making a net profit. The medium-volatility label describes payout variation without prescribing a fixed winning schedule.

The base game contributes 68.64 percentage points to total RTP, while free spins contribute 28.09 points. Together they produce 96.73%. The 28.09 figure is not a bonus-trigger chance. At €200 turnover, the theoretical difference between money staked and returned is €6.54. This describes a long-run mathematical model without promising a particular balance after one hundred spins.

The document separately lists 2,525x as the largest result in a billion-spin simulation and 25,000x as the advertised ceiling. They measure different things. Neither identifies the current rising multiplier. A 100x award at a €0.20 full stake pays €20 before subtracting the paid spin’s cost.

The largest observation alone cannot reconstruct the distribution of outcomes. The simulation provides no spin count after which a player must receive a large award. In a short session, payout variation can outweigh a small RTP difference from another slot.

Wild Bandito among PG Soft games

Wild Bandito and Fortune Tiger differ in how awards develop. Bandito removes winning symbols and creates cascades. Tiger’s special feature collects a selected symbol type through respins. Mahjong Ways 2 is closer to Bandito through cascades and gold transformations, but uses preset multiplier steps. Similar artwork does not make the rules interchangeable.

Game RTP Max win
Fortune Ox 96.75% 2,000x
Fortune Tiger 96.81% 2,500x
Wild Bandito 96.73% 25,000x
Mahjong Ways 2 96.95% 100,000x

Mahjong Ways 2 has an advertised ceiling four times higher. Fortune Tiger has one ten times lower. Those relationships compare ceiling sizes without measuring how often they occur. A cash amount also requires the full stake and the particular combination.

Pros

  • Cascades can add awards within one paid spin
  • Winning gold-framed symbols transform into Wilds
  • Free spins can retrigger

Cons

  • A gold frame becomes Wild only after taking part in a win
  • The base-game multiplier restarts for every paid spin

FAQ

How large is the Wild Bandito download?

The official card for the listed edition gives 19.6 MB for both full size and initial download. This describes asset volume, rather than identical loading time at every connection speed.

What do Big Win and Mega Win mean?

The technical sheet starts Big Win at 20x stake, Mega Win at 35x and Super Mega Win at 50x. These name levels of an award already received, rather than different purchase buttons or extra bonuses.

What does the number on Stop indicate?

During autoplay it shows the number of spins remaining. Stop ends automatic continuation; the number does not represent the balance or the cost of the next spin.
