Bigger Bass Blizzard Christmas Catch review

Bigger Bass Blizzard Christmas Catch came out on 28 November 2022 as Reel Kingdom’s winter branch of Big Bass. The fisherman collects fish money in free spins. Snowy firs, icicles and an ice hole surround the reels; a snowmobile, rod, bobber and tackle box sit beside card symbols painted like candy.

Lines and money fish

The rules window draws the layouts of all 12 lines. Four of them are straight, one per row, and the others run in zigzags and arcs. Symbols pay left to right, the best result of each line is credited once, and sums from different lines add up. The total stake spreads over the lines evenly, so at 1.20 every line carries 0.10.

Snowmobile — 5: x200; 4: x20; 3: x5; 2: x0.5.

Rod in the hole — 5: x100; 4: x15; 3: x3; 2: none.

Bobber — 5: x50; 4: x10; 3: x2; 2: none.

Tackle box — 5: x50; 4: x10; 3: x2; 2: none.

Fish — 5: sum of fish values; 4: x5; 3: x1; 2: none.

A, K, Q, J, 10 — 5: x10; 4: x2.5; 3: x0.5; 2: none.

The table uses total bets, converted from the rules window at a 1.20 stake. Fish combine regular and money-symbol roles: five on a paying line award their values’ sum instead of a fixed coefficient. A money win is therefore possible without the bonus fisherman. Each fish can carry 2x, 5x, 10x, 15x, 20x, 25x, 50x or 4,000x; their weights are not given.

An illustrative set of five fish valued at 10, 5, 2, 2 and 50 pays 69x. This calculates one layout, not a typical award. There is no regular-play Wild; scatters may appear on all reels and have no separate pay.

Starting free spins and three extensions

Three, four or five scatters in any positions give 10, 15 or 20 free spins. If only two scatters land in the base game, a hook can appear at random and drag a third onto the screen, and then the feature starts all the same. A scatter can show up on any of the five reels. The table carries no separate scatter payout, so their role is purely that of a bonus.

In the bonus the fisherman Wild appears on all reels, substituting for regular symbols except scatters. Each collects every money fish on screen; several fishermen each collect the same set. All appearing fishermen count towards the cumulative meter until the round ends, even without fish.

1st — Fishermen collected: 4; Spins added: +10; Collect multiplier: 2x.

2nd — Fishermen collected: 8; Spins added: +10; Collect multiplier: 3x.

3rd — Fishermen collected: 12; Spins added: +10; Collect multiplier: 10x.

Added batches follow the current one, and their collect multiplier applies to them. No further extension follows the third: starting options can reach 40, 45 or 50 spins. The bonus uses separate strips. With one or two fishermen and no money fish, fish may randomly be added; one or two hooks may also pull reels up to reveal fish or fishermen above the grid. These additions are not guaranteed.

Buying, Ante and the round limit

A buy costs 100x the current regular stake and randomly awards three to five scatters. Ante raises the bet coefficient from 12 to 18, increasing spin cost by 50% and raising scatter chance; it disables buying. The exact probability increase is unspecified. This does not establish a cheaper buy relative to one raised stake.

Regular-play and Ante RTP is 96.08%, with 96.07% for buying. The rules rate volatility medium, without promising steady pays. The regular round limit is 4,000x: reaching it immediately ends the round and cancels remaining features. Reported frequency is 1:978,569; Ante lists 2,667x and 1:550,843. The stake-coefficient ratio explains an approximately equal cash limit, although the Ante value is rounded.

Hit, bonus, hook and third-extension frequencies are undisclosed. The top fish can reach the limit by itself, but it is not the only route: all round pays and collects count. Without a result distribution, an extension cannot be called the likeliest route to the maximum.

Differences from other Big Bass games

Bigger Bass Bonanza shares the limit and grid geometry at 96.71% RTP; Big Bass Bonanza has the same RTP and a 2,100x maximum. Big Bass Splash from 2022 raises its limit to 5,000x. All three are rated high volatility, while this winter game is medium. These are separate mathematical models, rather than artwork changes alone.

Pros

  • Every fourth collected fisherman adds ten spins and advances the collection multiplier.
  • The three multiplier stages are 2x, 3x and 10x.

Cons

  • Fisherman Wilds and cash fish operate only during free spins.
  • The free-spin round cannot extend after its third retrigger.
