Dragon King review

Dragon King is an early GameArt slot from 7 October 2014, with Chinese mythology, gold coins and Dragon Wilds. Fifty lines run across a 5×4 board. Stacked dragons are central: a full column covers every line on its reel. The feature starts with five free spins and adds stacks.

Red reels and golden charms

The reels stand against sunset mountains and pagodas, with each cell framed in red and gold. The premium symbols are all golden: a koi carp, a three-legged toad holding a coin, a turtle and an ornament with a red emblem. Card ranks from 9 to ace come in different colours so they are easy to tell apart. Dragons sit on dark blue cells, so a stack of them stands out instantly. Over the grid, the logo carries the same coin on a red ribbon that serves as the scatter.

Fifty active lines and the pair-of-lines stake

Studio images show four rows in regular play and the feature: twenty cells. All fifty lines remain active and read left to right. The interface sets a pair-of-lines stake and separately displays a total of 0.5–100. Each line receives 0.01–2. Paytable already converts displayed amounts to the selected stake; they should not be multiplied by it again. Complete coefficients are absent here.

The ordinary paytable contains six card ranks,9,10, J, Q, K, A, and four golden figures. Their weights and individual match frequencies are unpublished. Fifty lines do not mean fifty independent attempts: the same cells participate in several lines.

What a full Wild column covers

The dragon is the Wild: it replaces every symbol except the gold coin and, according to the studio, frequently lands stacked. That has a simple but important consequence. Every one of the 50 lines passes through every reel in exactly one cell. So when dragons fill a reel, there is a Wild on all fifty lines at the same time.

A full column on reel two can connect matching paying symbols on reels one and three. Reel one helps begin a chain, and reel five extends a match that has already reached it. No position alone guarantees an award: appropriate symbols and the paytable’s minimum length are required. A full central Wild reel also contains no coin, which the Wild does not replace.

On an illustrative board, dragons fill reels two, three and four. Every line crosses three Wilds. With an ordinary paying symbol on reel one, a four-symbol chain forms; a matching type on reel five extends it to five. The sum depends on edge symbols and the paytable. “All fifty pay” requires an eligible first symbol on every line rather than just three middle columns.

Coins on the three central reels

The gold coin appears only on reels two, three and four. Three coins anywhere on those reels award five free spins with extra stacked dragons. Three new coins add five more. For example, after the third of the starting five, two remain; the extension adds five, giving seven subsequent spins. This counts spins rather than predicting an award. The free spins explainer covers the general mechanic.

The studio’s retrigger wording says the original bet is doubled. It does not clarify whether that means a one-off prize, a changed stake or a payout multiplier. Consequently, two guaranteed bets cannot be added to the example, nor can every subsequent win be doubled, without clarification in the active rules.

The catalogue lists 96% RTP and low volatility. Hit and feature frequencies and the maximum award are unpublished. Low volatility and a five-spin start cannot establish a ceiling “in hundreds of bets”, the base game’s return share or the average feature award.
