Das xBoot 2wei review
Das xBoot 2wei came out on 16 December 2025 and takes players back into the submarine war Nolimit City first showed in the original. The crew has been under water for over four years, clearing sea mines and dodging patrols, and the sub has become “stealthier and deadlier”. The grid is asymmetric and wins are paid by ways. The studio’s game page calls the maths extreme in volatility; this game has no separate maths sheet, and the key numbers are published on the page itself.
The 2-3-4-4-3-2 grid: from 576 ways to 2,560
The game starts with six reels of different heights: 2, 3, 4, 4, 3 and 2 positions. Multiply them and you get 576 ways, a figure the studio states itself. The grid does not stay fixed, since modifiers grow the reels, and in the maximum layout the heights are 2-4-8-5-4-2.
Multiplying the heights of the maximum grid gives 2,560 ways. The studio does not state that number, and it ignores xWays splits, so the real number of ways in a bonus can run higher. The growth is most visible on reel 3, which Periscope Up stretches to eight positions.
xNudge Wild: four rows tall and falling until fully shown
The xNudge Wild is four rows tall and always nudges down until it is fully visible. Each step adds one to its multiplier. It lands only on reels 3 and 4, and during Periscope Up! only reel 4 remains.
All multipliers in the game add to each other, and the win is multiplied by the total. A hypothetical case: an xNudge Wild on reel 4 nudges three times and carries a multiplier of 3, an xBomb arrives on the next collapse and the sum grows to 4. If the base win was 2 stakes, the payout is 8.
xWays on reels 2 and 5
The xWays symbol lands only on reels 2 and 5. It reveals a random regular symbol and covers two to three positions. If several xWays land at once, they all reveal the same symbol.
This symbol has a second life in the game. The torpedo makes it bigger: on reels 2 and 5, after a launch the symbol becomes a regular one and splits into as many ways as the torpedo parts collected.
xBomb: an explosion worth more than many symbols
The xBomb stands in for any symbol apart from Bonus. It blows up every symbol that is not part of a winning combination, except Bonus and other Wilds. After the blast the remaining symbols fall and the grid refills from the top. The win multiplier rises by one before the collapse.
The key property: the xBomb multiplier gained when a feature triggers is carried into Torpedo Builder and into all three bonuses. So an xBomb that lands just before a bonus keeps working inside it.
Periscope Up!: a reel of eight positions
The feature stretches reel 3 to 8 positions and a Periscope Wild can appear on it. When matching symbols sit on reels 1 and 2 and a Periscope Wild on reel 3, a torpedo sequence starts: a target is found in the periscope and a torpedo is fired.
If the torpedo hits, the Wild grows to the top position of the reel and nudges down, adding a multiplier for each step. If it misses, the Periscope Wild stays a single Wild. In the base game and in Wolf Pack Spins the feature fires at random, and in Silent Hunter Spins and Battle of the Atlantic Spins it works all the time.
Torpedo Builder: finish the torpedo in three spins
In the base game and in Silent Hunter Spins the feature starts when a full boat two symbols wide fills the binoculars above reels 5 and 6. A torpedo tube appears under reels 2 to 5 and only torpedo parts can land on those reels. Reels 1 and 6 close.
You get 3 spins to collect 4 parts. On reels 2 and 5 a part puts an xWays symbol of size +1, +2 or +3 into the tube, while on reels 3 and 4 a Wild of the same size is placed. After the launch, symbols matching the collected parts open behind the torpedo. In the golden version the parts carry values of +8 or +88 only.
Three bonuses and a Scatter ladder
The Scatter, the Bonus symbol, lands on any of reels 1 to 6. The number of Scatters decides the bonus.
| Scatters | Bonus | Spins | What is switched on |
|---|---|---|---|
| 3 | Silent Hunter Spins | 8 | Periscope Up! active throughout |
| 4 | Wolf Pack Spins | 9 | Torpedo tube under the reels |
| 5 | Battle of the Atlantic Spins | 10 | Periscope and torpedo together |
In every bonus an extra Bonus symbol adds 2 spins. The spin count rises with the number of Scatters, but so does the entry bar: the higher the step, the less often it lands.
Silent Hunter Spins: a permanent periscope
In this bonus Periscope Up! never pauses. Each Periscope Wild nudge gives a persistent multiplier that begins at 1x after the first step and grows by one with each further step. The multiplier applies only to the spin in which the Wild landed and the target was hit.
The xBomb multiplier works separately. Each new bomb adds one and it is kept until the bonus ends. All multipliers are added together before wins are calculated. In this bonus the number of xBombs landed over 8 spins matters more than any single big combination.
Wolf Pack Spins: a torpedo tube that reloads
A tube appears under reels 2 to 5 where torpedo parts drop. At the start it is loaded with xWays and xWays Wilds of size 2. Parts detach from the reels and leave a Wild behind. On reels 2 and 5 a part adds +1, +2 or +3 xWays symbols, and on reels 3 and 4 the same for a Wild.
Each time a full boat lands in the binoculars, the torpedo fires in its current state. After the launch an identical torpedo is loaded and can be upgraded in later spins. So progress is not lost and the xBomb multiplier keeps growing to the end of the round.
Battle of the Atlantic: periscope and torpedo together
The top step combines both mechanics. Periscope Up! from Silent Hunter Spins and Torpedo Builder from Wolf Pack Spins work at the same time, and the studio calls it “ultimate carnage”. Every new bomb lifts the xBomb multiplier by one for the whole bonus.
Five Scatters at once land less often than three, and under the studio rules they give ten spins. Overall it is the richest mode in the game, and the rarest.
Nolimit boosters and the Extra Spin
Instead of a classic bonus buy the studio offers boosters, each of which guarantees its own event. The price is given in base stakes, which reads as the cost of a spin with the booster on.
| Booster | Price in base stakes | What it guarantees |
|---|---|---|
| Bonus Booster | 1.5 | a Bonus symbol |
| Periscope Up! | 8 | a Periscope Up! trigger |
| Torpedo Booster | 20 | Torpedo Builder and a full boat in the binoculars |
| Golden Torpedo Booster | 4,500 | Golden Torpedo Builder with +8 or +88 parts |
The Extra Spin works apart from the boosters. When a bonus ends, the player is sometimes offered a chance to buy an extra spin. All accumulated multipliers and the progress of the torpedo tube are kept, and the price depends on that state. The offer appears only if the price is no more than the total win, so it never asks for money the bonus did not produce.
Return, frequencies and the cap rule
Of the 95.94% total return, the base game carries 65.85%, roughly 69%. The bonus brings 30.09%, roughly 31%. Dead Canary from the same studio splits its return 61.80% to 34.22% between base game and bonus, so the base share is higher here and the bonus weighs less.
The base share is built from many small payouts. A 21.75% hit rate means a win roughly once in 4.6 spins, and many hits pay less than the spin cost. The bonus lands once in 273 spins, and a win of 100x once in 734, almost three times rarer than the bonus.
The maximum win rule is called Nein! Nein! Nein! Nein!: should a win pass 59,999 stakes, the round closes with a payout of exactly that sum. The studio puts the odds of that at about 1 in 25,300,000 spins.
The original and other games with xBomb and xNudge
The first part, Das xBoot, came out on 24 August 2021 with a 96.03% RTP and a 55,555x cap, 4,444 stakes below the sequel’s, and became one of the studio’s best-known games. It was built around xBomb, xNudge and xWays, and those three pieces were enough to understand it. The sequel keeps them and introduces the periscope and the torpedo anew, so more happens around each spin: a growing reel, part assembly, launches and blasts. The grid is harder to read, and the number of states a round can reach has grown noticeably. How often the periscope and the torpedo trigger, the studio does not publish.
Across Nolimit City games the xBomb and xNudge mechanics wander from title to title. In Evil Goblins xBomb explosives sit at the centre of the story. A second example, Bushido Ways xNudge, shows how a whole game is built on xNudge. The studio as a whole is covered on the Nolimit City provider page.
