Elvis Frog in Vegas review

A frog in a white jumpsuit and dark glasses sings on a Las Vegas stage, with neon signs behind him and a pink limousine parked nearby. That is how BGaming played the King of Rock and Roll in May 2020. The grid is 5×3 with 25 fixed lines, and big pays come from three sources: Coin Respin, free spins with a giant symbol, and a Gamble. The RTP is a single 95.3%, and there is no bonus buy: free spins come only from stars.

A neon strip and a frog at the microphone

The scene is a casino street at night. Signs reading LUCK and WIN glow behind the reels, the frame is lined with red bulbs, and a board with three jackpots hangs above the grid. There are few symbols: five pictures and four card ranks. The Elvis frog is the Wild, joined by a second frog, a pink limo, a blue guitar and a microphone. A, K, Q and J fill the rest.

The studio pitches it simply: you hear the hits sung by an eccentric frog and cruise toward fame in a pink limo. The tone is light, and the build is classic for 2020, with no cascades and no clusters. Put it next to a later BGaming release such as Aztec Magic Bonanza and the generational gap shows at once.

The paytable in share-of-bet terms

Lines pay left to right, only the highest win per line counts, and wins on different lines add up. The in-game table quotes values in line bets; the total bet is split over 25 lines, so the last column converts the values into total bets.

Symbol 3 / 4 / 5 in line bets 3 / 4 / 5 in total bets
Wild (Elvis Frog) 25 / 250 / 500 1 / 10 / 20
Second frog 25 / 250 / 500 1 / 10 / 20
Pink limo 20 / 150 / 400 0.8 / 6 / 16
Guitar 15 / 100 / 300 0.6 / 4 / 12
Microphone 10 / 50 / 200 0.4 / 2 / 8
A 10 / 20 / 50 0.4 / 0.8 / 2
K, Q, J 5 / 20 / 50 0.2 / 0.8 / 2

The star scatter pays one total bet for three, four or five symbols anywhere on the grid. A scatter pay stacks with line wins from the same spin.

Why five Wilds pay only 20 bets

The 500 on the top row looks big, but it applies to a single line; converted to the total bet, the richest line combination is worth 20 bets. The 2,500x cap is not built from the table at all. It is built from the bonuses. Anyone hoping for miracles from the Wild will be let down: it replaces everything except the scatter and coins, but it does not stretch to large numbers.

An individual paytable award can be below the total stake; wins on multiple paylines add together. The studio publishes Hit Rate 2.21 without defining its unit. This figure establishes neither a 45% payout frequency nor an interval between payouts. Volatility is labelled medium-high, but that category does not determine a session’s win sequence or balance path.

Coin Respin and three jackpots

Coins can land in the base game and in free spins alike. Six or more in one spin open a separate Hold and Win style round where only coins stay on the grid. The more coins collected by the end, the bigger the result: by the rules all values are summed and the game pays the total. Coins have nothing to do with triggering free spins.

Coin values are fixed shares of the total bet: 1x, 2x, 3x, 4x, 5x, 6x, 7x, 8x, 10x, 14x, 16x, 18x, 20x, 24x, 30x and 100x. That makes sixteen variants, and their frequencies are not disclosed. Special Mini and Major coins show a jackpot name instead of a number: Mini is worth 30x the total bet and Major 100x. The sums on the board above the reels are tied to the bet: a bigger bet raises the jackpot sum, so the multiples stay the same.

The 1,000x Mega jackpot has no separate coin. Filling all 15 positions with coins awards the jackpot plus the collected coin values. Probabilities of a full grid and other Coin Respin outcomes are unpublished, so their relative rarity cannot be ranked.

Three stars on the odd reels

For the bonus, the scatter does not behave as an “anywhere” symbol. The bonus stars only count on reels 1, 3 and 5. Three of them start five free spins at the stake of the spin that opened them. Stars on reels 2 and 4 do not help, since the combination needs the odd positions specifically; stars on neighbouring reels remain plain scatters paying one bet.

Entry requires scatters on reels 1, 3 and 5. That rule alone does not establish how often the bonus triggers compared with an any-three-scatters game: symbol weights would be needed. FS Rate 208 is published without a defined unit and does not establish a mean interval of 208 spins.

Blazing reels: three columns fuse

In free spins reels 2, 3 and 4 merge into one special reel carrying a spinning giant symbol. It consists of nine ordinary symbols and pays as if nine identical ones sat on the grid. The special reel stays in place for the whole round.

The rules illustrate it with an example. A giant limo fills a 3×3 block in the centre. Each of the 25 lines crosses those three reels, so every line already holds three limos. If a fourth limo sits on reel 1 in the row a line passes, that line pays four of a kind, 150 line bets or 6 total bets. If a fifth sits on reel 5, it grows to 16 total bets on every such line.

One lucky landing of the giant thus turns into several lines at once. That is the moment people play the free spins for.

Five spins and star extenders

The round starts with five spins. When a Giant Star drops in the bonus, three spins are added to the counter. The rules stress that the process has no limit: the chain can continue as long as stars keep coming. The bonus plays at the same bet and the same number of lines.

Coins stay active inside the bonus as well: six or more start a Coin Respin here too. So one round can bring a good giant landing and a coin series together. These overlaps produce the game’s most visible payouts.

Gamble: doubling and its ceiling

After any base-game win a Gamble button appears. You guess the colour of a face-down card or its suit. A correct colour doubles the round stake and a correct suit multiplies it by 4. A miss ends the round and you return to the game.

The ceiling comes from a rule: rounds stay available until the win reaches a quarter of the maximum, which is 625 bets. If the next step would exceed the maximum, the Gamble closes and the accumulated sum is credited. Colour pays 2x at a 1-in-2 chance and suit pays 4x at 1-in-4, so on paper the expectation stays the same and only the spread changes.

Autoplay and dropped connections

In the autoplay settings the number of rounds is confirmed in a pop-up that shows the amount: spins multiplied by the bet. A series can stop on five conditions: on any win, when a bonus game triggers, when a single win exceeds a set sum, when the balance rises by a set amount, or when it falls by a set amount. After a stop the settings reset and the bet returns to its default.

The rules are just as explicit about a dropped connection. A malfunction voids all plays and pays, and unfinished rounds are closed every 24 hours. If the game needs a Collect action, it collects the win by itself and credits it to the balance. If a player decision is required, the result is counted as though the no-risk option was chosen and the original bet was not raised.

The Elvis frog in three editions: a sequel and TrueWays

One sequel, Aloha King Elvis, came out on 22 July 2021 with a 2,000x cap. The studio also has a second frog, Elvis Frog TrueWays, released in October 2022, and the official numbers show how it differs from the original.

Parameter Elvis Frog in Vegas Elvis Frog TrueWays
Release 13 May 2020 20 October 2022
RTP 95.3% 96.7%
Volatility (studio label) medium-high very high
Max win 2,500x 5,000x
Hit Rate 2.21 4.33
FS Rate 208 229

The newer version is more generous: its RTP is 1.4 percentage points higher and its cap twice as large, though its volatility is harsher. The older one is plainer and gentler. For the same coin-chasing thrill in a different wrapper there is Buffalo Hold and Win, and for a lighter rhythm with a respin and a wheel, Fire Joker.

FAQ

What stakes are available, and is there a demo?

The bet runs from 2.5 to 25. The studio demo opens with no registration, pays in play credits and starts at a 2.50 bet, which is the minimum.

Do coins bring the free spins closer?

No. Six or more coins start a Coin Respin, while free spins are opened only by three stars on reels 1, 3 and 5. The link runs one way only: inside free spins the coins stay active and can start a Coin Respin.

What happens to a win if the connection drops during the Gamble?

An interrupted round is not scored as a loss. The rules count the result as though the no-risk option was chosen, so the win from before the Gamble stays yours.

Can I use the Gamble in autoplay?

Yes, if the autoplay stop condition ’on any win’ is ticked: the series halts on a win and the Gamble becomes available. After any stop the settings reset and the bet returns to its default.
