Esqueleto Explosivo 2 review
Esqueleto Explosivo 2 continues Thunderkick’s Day of the Dead celebration in 2020. Skeleton musicians play beneath the reels on a Mexican street with lights, candles and paper flags. The blue base-game sky turns purple in free spins. The new top skull is purple, with a golden headdress, flowers and earrings.
Connections and skull payouts
The 5×3 grid offers 99 ways. A chain starts on reel 1 and links matching symbols on adjacent reels in the same row or one row above or below, without skipping a row. Path counts to the three cells on successive reels are 1/1/1, 2/3/2, 5/7/5, 12/17/12 and 29/41/29; the last sum is 99. Reel 3’s middle cell lies on 49 paths and an outer cell on 25, but these are not win probabilities.
Alongside purple are pink with a rose, green, blue with a moustache, orange and turquoise skulls. The sheet shows currency payouts at an unspecified stake: these figures cannot be treated as total-bet multiples. The original’s top-to-bottom payout ratio was roughly twelvefold.
| Skull | 3 in a chain | 4 in a chain | 5 in a chain |
|---|---|---|---|
| Purple (top) | 10 | 20 | 50 |
| Pink with rose | 5 | 9 | 25 |
| Green | 4 | 7 | 14 |
| Blue with moustache | 3 | 6 | 12 |
| Orange | 3 | 5 | 9 |
| Turquoise | 2 | 4 | 7 |
Drops, Mucho and Wild blasts
Winning symbols disappear, existing and new symbols drop into their places and evaluation continues until no win forms. Mucho Multiplier follows 1x, 2x, 4x, 8x, 16x and 32x steps. Every win after a drop and each Explosivo Wild appearance advances it one step; after a base-game round it resets to 1x.
The Wild replaces everything except the scatter and blasts from three neighbouring cells in a corner to eight in the centre. The top purple skull and scatters survive and remain on the grid, followed by new symbols. The scatter—a silver skull with red eyes and a wind-up key—can be joined by further scatters on a later drop in the same spin.

Free spins and Explosivo Wild collection
| Scatters | Trigger from base game | Extension in bonus |
|---|---|---|
| 2 | — | +3 |
| 3 | 10 | +7 |
| 4 | 12 | +10 |
| 5 | 14 | +12 |
| each beyond five | +2 | +2 |
Scatters trigger the bonus anywhere. Five groups of three Wild collection slots appear. Every third collected Wild adds a spin and removes the lowest step. At 0, 3, 6, 9, 12 and 15 Wilds the starting base is 1x, 2x, 4x, 8x, 16x and 32x respectively. Before the final threshold the top stays 32x; 64x is visible but locked.
After the top step unlocks, each spin starts at 32x and a win after a drop or new Wild advances it to 64x. Scatters increase the spin count, while Wild collection changes the base of every remaining spin; these rules do not establish each event’s average value.
Builds and later entries
The main build has 96.13% RTP and the lower build 90.00%; the operator selects the setting shown in the rules screen. Volatility is high and hit and bonus frequencies are not provided. The 5,000x maximum applies to the whole round, including extensions: reaching it immediately terminates the round and forfeits remaining free spins.
The original Esqueleto Explosivo (2014) uses 17 lines, the same Mucho ladder, 96.0% RTP, low volatility and a 700x maximum without free spins. Reborn’s 2022 sheet retains the sequel’s mechanics and maximum, adding a buy with 96.35% RTP; base RTP is 96.13%, with other versions at 94%, 92% and 90%.
Esqueleto Explosivo 3 (October 2024) moved to 5×5 clusters, multipliers up to 1,024x, 94.22% RTP and a 7,500x maximum. Christmas spin-off Feliz Navidead followed in 2025. In the same studio’s Carnival Queen, the multiplier level builds throughout the bonus without Wild collection.
