Mustang Gold review
Pragmatic Play’s Mustang Gold takes place in a canyon at sunset. A wooden frame, four jackpot plaques, a white mustang, black stallion, cowboy and woman in a hat establish the western setting. Its page is dated 3 December 2018 and its announcement 17 January 2019; these remain two publication dates.
Line pays and the money collect
The 5×3 grid has 25 left-to-right lines: each pays its highest combination, with separate lines added together. The following table uses total bets. The Wild logo on reels 2–5 substitutes for regular symbols but not the campfire Scatter, money horseshoe or collect badge.
White horse — Three symbols: 0.4x; Four symbols: 2x; Five symbols: 20x.
Black horse — Three symbols: 0.4x; Four symbols: 2x; Five symbols: 12x.
Cowboy — Three symbols: 0.4x; Four symbols: 1x; Five symbols: 10x.
Cowgirl — Three symbols: 0.4x; Four symbols: 1x; Five symbols: 8x.
A, K, Q, J — Three symbols: 0.2x; Four symbols: 0.6x; Five symbols: 4x.
The main feature is Money Collect. The horseshoe, the money symbol, can land on reels one to four. A horseshoe draws its value at random from the ladder 1, 2, 3, 5, 8, 10, 12, 15, 18, 20, 25, 30, 35 (in stakes), or else turns into a jackpot horseshoe. The sheriff’s badge marked Collect exists only on reel five.
The badge together with at least one horseshoe collects all money values on the grid. A horseshoe without the badge is not collected; a badge without horseshoes produces no money collect. Selection weights are unspecified, so the list’s arithmetic mean is not an average horseshoe pay.
Jackpot Reveal and eight free spins
Each collected jackpot horseshoe opens a separate Jackpot Reveal mini-game, with several played sequentially. Horseshoes are revealed until three matching jackpot marks appear. Prizes are fixed relative to the total bet rather than progressive, with each level’s probability undisclosed.
| Prize | Bet multiple |
|---|---|
| Mini | 50x |
| Minor | 100x |
| Major | 200x |
| Grand | 1,000x |
An illustrative collect of x8, x20, x3 and a x50 Mini totals x81, separately from lines. Several badges do not establish repeated multiplication of the whole sum: that settlement rule is not described here. Twelve possible money cells follow from four three-row reels, without proving the sole route to the whole-round limit.
Three campfires on reels 2, 3 and 4 pay one bet and start eight free spins. Special reel strips contain more horseshoes and badges, without stating the exact probability uplift. Another three campfires add eight spins. A retrigger limit is unspecified.
Maths and other westerns
RTP is 96.53% and volatility low. A 12,000x maximum is stated, without decoding termination or the limit’s settlement scope. Bonus and collect frequencies, money and jackpot weights and separate free-spin RTP are absent. The modes therefore cannot be ranked by expected pay or large-result frequency.
Wolf Gold arrived on 25 April 2017 with 96.01% RTP, medium risk and a 2,500x limit. Gold Party from 2022 uses money respins and a 5,163x maximum. Wild West Gold and Dead or Alive retain the Wild West theme with different bonuses; the latter series is covered in comparison of the first and second parts.
