Betsson Casino review

Betsson combines slots, live dealer games, poker and sports betting. Which of these you can use depends on where you live. The international betsson.com, Lithuania’s betsson.lt and Italy’s betsson.it have different payment options, age requirements, bonuses and document checks. The French brand offers sports betting rather than an online casino. A shared logo does not mean a shared account contract.

Every version belongs to Sweden’s Betsson AB, whose shares trade on Nasdaq Stockholm. The group dates back to 1963, when Bill Lindwall and Rolf Lundström founded AB Restaurang Rouletter to put slot machines in restaurants; the Cherry name was registered in 1972. The online brand came later: Cherry bought a stake in Betsson.com in 2003 and completed the purchase in 2005. By the end of 2025 the group counted 31.1 million registered customers, with 1.4 million active customers in the fourth quarter, and casino brought in 72.5% of revenue.

Who operates Betsson and where registration is allowed

Three companies operate betsson.com. Rizk Nordic serves permitted EU markets other than Sweden, Spin Nordic handles Sweden, and NetPlay Malta serves other permitted countries. All use the Maltese address 199, Experience Centre, Ta’ Xbiex Seafront, but their licences differ. The Maltese permissions cover casino, fixed-odds betting and player-to-player products. Technical supplier Fiveoseven Solutions Limited has its own B2B licence, MGA/B2B/194/2010.

The international contract excludes residents of Russia, Ukraine, the United States, the United Kingdom, Germany, Norway, Ireland and many other countries. Ontario and Alberta are excluded in Canada. Italy, Lithuania and France also appear in that contract’s restricted list because their local sites use separate contracts. Changing the interface language does not remove a residence restriction.

Some restrictions affect a product rather than the whole account. Canadian customers cannot use poker under the international contract. New Zealand customers cannot use its sportsbook. A product appearing in the general menu does not establish that your account can access it. The minimum age is eighteen, or the higher age required by local law.

The contract’s licence introduction still mentions historical dates in 2006 and 2018. Its separate NetPlay clause gives the current permission’s issue date in 2025. Those older dates should not be read as the issue date of the new licence. In Sweden, previous operator Betsson Nordic received a warning and a SEK 6.5 million penalty in 2025 for insufficient checks on the source of customer funds. A court upheld the decision in July 2026. That case concerns Betsson Nordic, rather than the new Spin Nordic company.

Malta is not a mailbox address for Betsson but the place where the work actually happens. Group subsidiaries were licensed there in 2004, among the first online gaming firms on the island. The operational headquarters is the eight-storey Experience Centre, with a 24/7 operations hub called E2 in St Julian’s. Around 1,500 people work on the island, roughly half of the group’s staff.

Lithuania, Italy and France answer to their own regulators

In the first quarter of 2026 the group reported gaming licences in 25 countries. A local licence changes almost everything: the minimum age, how checks are done, the game mix, which regulator hears complaints and which self-exclusion register applies. For three European sites it looks like this.

The group’s locally licensed Swedish operation began on 1 January 2019; the current company is identified separately. Finland opened licence applications for betting, casino, slots and electronic bingo on 2 March 2026. Under the new framework, operations and marketing can start only from 1 July 2027, even where permission is issued earlier. Applying for a licence is different from already running a Finnish licensed casino.

Latin American markets and Brazil’s new restrictions

The group entered Latin America in 2008, and the region now brings in a third of revenue: 33% in the first quarter of 2026, up 25% year on year. When Peru introduced its own regulation in June 2024, Betsson received online casino and betting licences there together with two other group brands. Argentina licenses by jurisdiction, and Betsson holds permits in the City of Buenos Aires, Buenos Aires Province and Córdoba Province. There is a licence in Colombia as well.

Brazilian and Paraguayan launches belong to 2025, when the group also opened its Buenos Aires office. Locally regulated markets supplied 73% of revenue in the first quarter of 2026. Brazil’s March Law 15.358/2026 restricted payments to unlicensed operators, but the position changed more broadly afterwards. MP 1394/2026 of 25 September prohibited offering and advertising fixed-prize betting, including sports betting and the relevant online games. The government announced that balance refunds began on 9 October, with completion due by 14 October. Betsson’s 2025 launch does not establish continuing Brazilian access after these changes.

In France, withdrawals stay locked until your bank details are on file

Betsson.fr offers sports betting only. A new account is provisional: deposits and bets are allowed, but withdrawals are blocked. ID and address checks move it to pre-validated status. Final approval requires a RIB showing your name and the bank’s name and logo. The initial document deadline is thirty days. Another thirty-day blocked period follows, after which an unverified account is closed.

For the initial French address check, the help centre allows documents up to twelve months old. Examples include utility bills, tax notices, bank statements, insurance and receipts from official landlords. Two instructions list different acceptable documents, so a rental contract, payslip or shop receipt is not guaranteed to qualify. Additional checks may require fresher evidence, up to three months old. French citizens can use a passport, ID card, driving licence or residence permit. Other EU citizens can use a passport or ID, with birth evidence where the birth town is missing. A passport is specified for other nationalities.

The French uploader uses Sumsub. A computer upload can continue on a phone through a QR code or SMS, while the app can photograph documents. The help centre gives up to twenty-four hours for identity and address documents, and up to two working days for a new RIB. These are separate stages: an approved passport does not mean the bank details have been approved.

Payments on the French site run through Adyen, and Betsson does not store card data itself. The game software is approved by the ANJ, certified by Mazars and audited regularly for security by Amossys. Self-exclusion in France goes through the ANJ and lasts at least three years.

Italy’s five-step sign-up with a tax code and a deposit limit

Italian registration runs in five stages: personal details, a codice fiscale check, username with password and security question, address, and finally a document upload together with deposit limits. In other words, the limit is chosen before the first deposit. The form asks for first and last name, email, gender, date, country and municipality of birth, home address and mobile number.

Any recognised document will do: national ID card, passport, driving licence or firearms permit. You enter its type, number, issue and expiry dates and place of issue. The operator’s registered seat is the same Maltese Experience Centre as the international site’s.

Products differ too: sports and live betting, casino and live casino, virtual sports, bingo, horse racing and a card games section with Burraco, Briscola and Scopa, including a Premio Matto mode. Bonuses on the Italian site cannot be withdrawn straight away; they have to be wagered first, and promotional credit usually lasts 7 to 30 days.

Italian terms require valid documents; without them, the contract ends after sixty days. Initial daily limits are three hours, €100 spending and €200 deposits. For customers aged eighteen to twenty-four, these become two hours and €50 each for spending and deposits. Those starting limits apply to betsson.it, rather than every Betsson account.

The Lithuanian lobby: slots, live games and iPoker

Lithuania’s operator joined the group in 2016; the current Betsson site previously used the Betsafe name. On 10 October 2026, its all-games counter shows 3,091. An earlier catalogue contained 3,108 games from forty-seven studios: 3,031 slots, 267 jackpot games, 115 Megaways titles, fifty-one table and poker games, and twenty-six AirDice titles. These are overlapping selections. A jackpot slot can also be a Megaways game, so category figures cannot be added as if every title were separate, or treated as the international site’s total.

The studios include Pragmatic Play, Play’n GO, Playson, Amusnet, Evolution, Habanero, Hacksaw, NetEnt, Big Time Gaming and Relax Gaming. Local branded games differ from the international selection. Aardvark’s LKL uses basketball league imagery, while BF Games’ FK Žalgiris Legacy features the football club. Cards identify the studio and limits before opening a game. Searching by its exact title distinguishes the original Gates of Olympus from the 1000 edition.

Live games come from Evolution, Pragmatic Play, Playtech, Ezugi and BetGames, with AirDice listed separately in the menu. The earlier live total was 154 games. The first payment on the Lithuanian site is checked by hand, for up to 24 hours

Lithuanian accounts are funded through Swedbank, SEB, Luminor, Citadele and Artea, through Revolut and Paysera, with Visa and Mastercard, Apple Pay, Skrill, Neteller and Perlas. Money lands instantly, amounts run from €3 to €10,000, and only Perlas caps out at €600. The very first transaction is confirmed by hand, which can take up to 24 hours. Identity checks combine documents with outside databases. The company checks details against reliable and publicly available sources, asks for an ID and a utility bill, screens customers against politically exposed person and sanctions lists, and automatically checks centralised self-exclusion registers. Bonanza Megaways pays out 96% RTP with a top win of 26,000x the stake, and the high-volatility Gonzo’s Quest Megaways matches the RTP with up to 21,000x. Mega Moolah Megaways works differently: its progressive jackpot starts at €2 million, its described configuration has 86.93% RTP. That figure belongs to this game’s rules, rather than the casino’s overall return.

Progressive slots have their own jackpot page with Mega Moolah, Mega Fortune Dreams and Empire Fortune, sortable by jackpot size or name. Many games can be tried for free before you play for money. The welcome package: a deposit bonus and 300 Cash Spins

The international ROW offer gives a 100% first-deposit bonus up to €100, Cash Spins and sports Free Bets. The first deposit must be at least €10, and the welcome must be claimed within fourteen days of registration. Each account gets one welcome choice: claiming the casino package rules out a second sportsbook welcome. Bonus turnover and the locked balance

A €40 deposit earns a €40 bonus requiring €1,400 in credited bets: forty times thirty-five. You do not double that figure for the deposit, because this offer applies its multiplier to the bonus alone. The international contract nevertheless locks the linked cash, bonus and winnings until wagering is complete. Spending cash first does not make the remaining cash immediately withdrawable.

At fifteen percent contribution, €1,400 of credit would mathematically require approximately €9,333.33 in actual bets. That calculation explains the condition, rather than a sensible spending target: the balance can run out well before completion. Wagering the deposit bonus on sports instead requires eight times the bonus at odds of at least 1.80. Free Bets, cashed-out bets, virtual sports and system bets do not complete it.

The casino bonus stake cap is €6 per round and €0.50 per line unless a particular promotion sets another limit. Doubling a win through Gamble, betting on opposing outcomes and saving a bonus-built feature for a later deposit are treated as breaches. Cancelling the bonus removes it and its related winnings. An early withdrawal under the welcome can also affect accumulated funds from the triggering deposit, so retaining the entire cash balance is not guaranteed. General casino rules use a thirty-day default expiry, but this welcome’s specific deadline is fourteen days.

Other promotional free spins can have deadlines from twenty-four hours to seven days and winnings turnover such as 15× or 25×. Those examples do not automatically describe the welcome Cash Spins. Unused rounds cannot be cashed out or transferred to another game. The brand’s free-spins guide names Blood Suckers and Dead or Alive as examples with no bonus contribution; a particular offer can add exclusions. Spin winnings, bonus contribution and RTP measure different things.

Betsson first reviews the request; its help centre allows up to twenty-four hours. Once released, the payment starts the delivery stage. The approval email confirms release, rather than arrival in your bank account.

The contract allows up to €50,000, or its currency equivalent, within any twenty-four hours. A larger amount requires agreement. This is an account ceiling, rather than a promise that every payment method handles €50,000. After twenty-five approved payouts in a calendar month, Betsson may charge two percent on each further withdrawal, with a €5 minimum. A twenty-sixth withdrawal of €100 could therefore cost €5; one of €500 could cost €10. Swedish residents are exempt from that fee.

Payouts normally return through the deposit method. If several methods funded the account, Betsson can split the withdrawal between them. Another person’s card or wallet is not allowed. Where the original route cannot receive funds, an alternative can be agreed. The operator may ask for cancellation and a new request using that route. That is a payment-routing check, rather than a new deposit to unlock winnings.

The help centre states at least one deposit turnover. The contract is conditional instead: the operator may require turnover of all or part of an unplayed deposit and, outside Sweden, a fee. Asking for a refund and the specific reason for a restriction is an alternative to gambling further with money you want returned. The help centre also allows cancellation if requested documents are missing after 120 hours. The amount then returns to the gaming balance, where it is available to bet again; it has not reached the bank.

Identity checks and proof of payment ownership

Under the international contract, verification is triggered by €2,000 in deposits, either in one transaction or across a rolling 180-day period. That is a deposit threshold, rather than a winnings threshold. Checks can be requested earlier, including before a withdrawal. Sweden uses BankID on registration and login.

The uploader is under My Account → Account Settings → Verification. Betsson asks customers to use it instead of sending document copies through ordinary email or chat. Photos need all edges visible, without glare or missing text. A virtual card or a card without a printed name may need a bank statement linking it to the payment. The contract permits one account per person and per household. A duplicate can lead to both accounts being blocked, with a ten-percent administrative deduction of at least €30. Outside Sweden, it can be switched off. Self-exclusion blocks play for the selected period, stops marketing and removes unused non-cash competition prizes. A translated help centre does not establish that registration is permitted in the associated country. Instead of waiting in chat you can request a callback: give your name, email, phone, the issue and a time slot, either as soon as possible, in 15–30 minutes or in 30–60 minutes. According to the group, customer service runs around the clock. Staff who deal with customers receive in-depth responsible gaming training and bring in specialists for difficult cases.

Remaining funds, inactivity and complaints

An international account becomes inactive after twelve months without a login. A €5 monthly fee then applies until the cash balance reaches zero, funds are withdrawn or you log in again. The warning email should arrive thirty days beforehand. Logging back in stops further charges, and you can request a full refund of fees already deducted. Swedish residents do not pay this inactivity fee.

The refund section allows five days following account closure, while the general closure clause says five working days. Those deadlines differ, and bank delivery can add a separate stage.
