Fat Rabbit review
Fat Rabbit is one of Push Gaming’s first hits, released on 27 March 2018, and it launched the whole “Fat” series. It is set on a sunny farm, with blocky, pixel-style characters that recall older video games. The 5×5 grid has 50 paylines, and the star is a rabbit that eats carrots during free spins and grows until he can fill the screen. It was the studio’s second release of 2018, and the launch material leaned hard on phones, promising a fully optimised mobile design. Eight years on, the core idea still feels fresh, even if the ceiling looks small next to modern releases.
Payouts and two Wild symbols
At launch James Marshall praised the fun design, frequent features and win potential; this is the announcement’s appraisal rather than separate frequency data.
A winning line needs three or more matching symbols side by side, starting from the left. Wooden card suits pay least; a haystack, a water bucket, the dog and the farmer pay more. The client stores the paytable per line; the figures here are converted to multiples of the total stake, since every spin covers all 50 lines.
| Symbol | 5 of a kind | 4 of a kind | 3 of a kind |
|---|---|---|---|
| Rabbit (pays in free spins only) | 20x | 4x | 0.8x |
| Farmer | 20x | 4x | 0.8x |
| Dog | 16x | 3x | 0.6x |
| Water bucket | 10x | 2x | 0.4x |
| Haystack | 6x | 1.6x | 0.32x |
| Spade, heart | 2x | 0.8x | 0.2x |
| Diamond, club | 1.6x | 0.6x | 0.16x |
Five lines are straight, the other forty-five zigzags, V shapes and diagonals. Only the highest match pays on each, while separate lines add together. Four 0.32x haystack triples pay 1.28x; exact line coverage cannot be inferred merely from proximity to the centre.
Two symbols act as Wilds: the carrot substitutes for regular symbols, and the rabbit is both a Wild and one of the top payers. The rules add two details missing from the studio’s product page. He can only land on reel 1. And the carrot replaces everything except the rabbit itself.
His own payouts, listed alongside the farmer’s, are live only in free spins. Outside the bonus he acts as a key and as a reel 1 substitute; he earns his keep as a paying symbol once he starts to grow.
Harvest and the carrot meter
The Harvest feature triggers at random: the farmer’s tractor drives across the grid and leaves Wild carrots in random positions before wins are counted. It appears while the reels are still spinning, and the rules do not fix how many carrots it drops.
Free spins trigger when the rabbit lands together with a carrot, starting with 5 spins. The rabbit stays put until the round ends and hops to each new carrot to eat it. Eaten carrots fill a meter, and the game rules spell out what each fill brings:
- first fill: the rabbit becomes 2×2 and adds 3 spins;
- second fill: 3×3 and 2 more spins;
- third fill: 4×4 and another 2 spins;
- fourth fill: 5×5, covering the grid, plus 1 spin.
Five starting spins plus 3 + 2 + 2 + 1 make a thirteen-spin maximum. There is no conventional retrigger; a new round starts at 1×1 without a described meter carryover. Carrot requirements per level are unspecified. Harvest does not pay independently; combinations after the Wild additions determine the pay.
If a line crosses a 2×2 rabbit on the first two reels and then a farmer and dog, three farmers pay 0.8x. Another farmer on reel four would give 4x. This illustrates placement rather than establishing that the rabbit always sits top left. If a full 5×5 counts as five rabbits on all fifty lines, one payment calculates as 50 × 20 = 1,000x; this is paytable arithmetic rather than the whole bonus limit.
Observed record and the rules limit
Push Gaming gives 3,844x as the highest observed result. Client help lists a maximum round payout of 11,322.76x. An observed record and a model limit are different figures; the former is not a hard cap. Volatility is high, while bonus and Harvest rates, maximum-win odds and confirmed early termination are unspecified. Stakes are 0.25–100.
Builds and free-spin purchases
| RTP | Feature buy price | Buy RTP |
|---|---|---|
| 96.45% | 80x | 96.59% |
| 95.28% | 80x | 95.31% |
| 94.15% | 85x | 94.20% |
| 92.48% | 85x | 92.51% |
| 90.51% | 85x | 90.54% |
The studio page names 96.45% and 94.15%; the client also includes 95.28%, 92.48% and 90.51%. Buying retains the growth and duration rules. Its price and return must match the active build: RTP concerns turnover within the chosen mode. Bonus buying does not guarantee a full meter.
Sequels to the farmyard idea
Fat Santa arrived on 27 November 2018 with the same 5×5, fifty lines and 3,844x record; pies replace carrots and a sleigh the tractor. October 2021’s Fat Drac uses 5×5, forty lines, growing goblets, instant-prize bubbles and a castle. Fat Banker is the fourth entry from 2022: six reels, fifty lines, money-bag growth, bullion and multipliers worth up to 100x per symbol and a 25,000x limit. Later entries add features around Push Gaming’s growing character.
