Ladbrokes Casino review
Only people living in four places can open an account at ladbrokes.com: the United Kingdom, Ireland, Gibraltar and Jersey. Everywhere else is closed because of local prohibitions, and using a VPN to hide where you are counts as prohibited activity. The minimum age is 18. The Belgian and Australian Ladbrokes run on their own sites under their own rules, so the ladbrokes.com terms do not apply to them.
How Ladbrokes became part of Entain
Ladbrokes traces its origins back to 1886. Its current owner’s 2018 annual report described the brand as an established force on the UK high street for over 50 years with a growing online business. The help centre still calls the company a market leader in retail bookmaking in the UK, Ireland and Belgium.
The turning point came in 2018. On 28 March, GVC Holdings completed its takeover of Ladbrokes Coral Group, announced the year before. In May 2020 every Ladbrokes customer was moved onto GVC’s own technology platform: 12.5 million accounts, the largest migration the group had ever run. Later that year GVC renamed itself Entain plc. The parent company is registered in the Isle of Man.
Online accounts are now run by LC International Limited, a Gibraltar company with registration number 46808 and an office at Suite 6, Atlantic Suites. It is wholly owned by Ladbrokes Betting & Gaming Limited, which operates licensed betting shops. Everything else follows from that link: one wallet for sports, casino, poker and bingo, terms written by a bookmaker, and close ties with the group’s other brands.
Licences and customer funds
The UK licence covers online casino, bingo, real-event and virtual betting, pool betting and betting intermediation. Irish sports and casino products use different licences: the GRAI regulates sports betting, while casino games operate under Gibraltar’s gaming licence. Your country of residence determines the contract, rather than your chosen interface language.
| Where you live | Regulator | Licence | Terms version |
|---|---|---|---|
| United Kingdom | Gambling Commission | account 54743 (054743-R-330863-015) | 21 January 2025 |
| Ireland | GRAI for sports, Government of Gibraltar for gaming | GRAI-0622-RB-26-0001; RGL 012 | 7 October 2026 |
| Gibraltar and Jersey | Government of Gibraltar, Gambling Commissioner | RGL 010 and 012 | 20 November 2024 |
Money belonging to British customers sits in a separate trust account run by an independent trustee and checked by an external auditor. The regulator rates this as high protection: if the company went bust, those funds would not form part of its assets.
The story has darker chapters too. In 2019 Ladbrokes Coral Group paid £5.9 million over systemic failures in player protection and anti-money-laundering controls between 2014 and 2017. In August 2022 the regulator ordered Entain to pay £17 million, of which £14 million fell on LC International Limited. The findings included customers making very large deposits without source-of-funds checks and players who, once blocked on one brand, simply opened an account on another. The group had to put a board member in charge of an improvement plan and commission an external audit, and the regulator warned that further serious breaches could cost it the licence.
When another Entain account affects registration
The UK register lists 14 active trading names for LC International. The new-account restriction is described separately. Ladbrokes’ help page applies a one-account-per-licence rule to new registrations from 1 July 2026. An existing account with another brand on that same licence can block registration. Accounts opened before that date under the previous Gibraltar licence may be kept.
The current UK and Irish general terms, however, describe one account per brand. Those wordings do not match. An Entain account elsewhere therefore does not guarantee either acceptance or rejection across every market. If registration flags a duplicate, give support the old brand and username. They can investigate an incorrect match. Opening another profile with a different email to bypass the message is not allowed.
Within Ladbrokes itself the rule is one person, one account. Duplicates are closed and the bets and bonuses on them voided. Documents sent for verification may be shared with other Entain companies where you hold accounts on their UK brands. If prohibited activity turns up on Ladbrokes, other group companies are told and may close their accounts too. A limit set after a source-of-funds check can also apply across the whole group.
Slots, live tables and mobile play
More than 1,800 machines fill the slots lobby. Besides the full list there are sections for new games, exclusives, Slingo, instant wins, jackpots and table games. The exclusives include Rainbow Rewards, Money Multiplier, Voyage of Adventure and Banks of Gold. A real curiosity is Rapid Rounds by Hungry Bear, a multiplayer slot where three players spin and compete on points. One battle a day is free, and the prize, cash or free spins, lands on a wheel the moment the round ends.
Games come from Pragmatic Play, Playtech, Big Time Gaming, Red Tiger, Blueprint Gaming, Relax Gaming, IGT, NetEnt, Play’n GO, Inspired Gaming, Slot Factory, Peter & Sons and other studios. UK players cannot use turbo or quick spin, which the regulator removed; payouts and theoretical RTP did not change. Each game’s rules and RTP open from the cog or question-mark icon inside it.
The live casino counts over 500 tables and shows from Evolution, Playtech and Pragmatic Play Live. Together with Playtech the brand built its own tables: Ladbrokes Roulette, several Ladbrokes Blackjack tables and Ladbrokes Speed Blackjack. The Well Well Well Live game show is exclusive as well. Low-stakes players get a section of 10p tables.
Outside labs check that results are random. GLI Europe BV certified the main random number generator and SQS India Infosystems the bingo one. Every quarter the company compares actual RTP with the theoretical figure. The same account opens sports betting, bingo, lotto, virtual sports and poker, which has a desktop client, iOS and Android apps and weekly cashback. The casino runs in a mobile browser, and Google Play carries a separate Ladbrokes Casino app published by LC International Limited.
LadBucks: tokens and reward deadlines
LadBucks launched in May 2024, and by the end of that year more than 1.2 million customers had used it, according to Entain. A LadBuck is a token with no cash value and cannot be swapped for money directly. Only verified adult players who are eligible for promotions can collect them.

Tokens come from daily Instant Spins, places in free slot and live contests, and the LadBucks Arcade, where a spin costs 10–200 tokens. A month’s tokens expire at 23:59 UK time on the 15th of the following month. Unused October tokens, for example, expire on 15 November.
The store exchanges tokens for free spins, casino, live casino and bingo bonuses with 1x wagering, sports free bets and cash rewards without wagering. Free spins, bonuses and free bets last seven days after issue. Cash rewards go straight to the balance with no wagering requirement. Tokens and redeemed rewards have separate deadlines; an exchange does not extend the life of any tokens left over.
An Irish sports free bet needs sports verification. Being verified for casino play may not be enough. Its seven days run from issue even if verification is unfinished. Completing the check late does not restore an expired reward.
Entering a contest takes no fee: open the contests lobby, opt in and launch the game in the set window. Live contests run every day. Slot contests run twice a day Monday to Thursday and once a day Friday to Sunday, paying tokens on weekdays and tokens or cash at weekends.
Registration and document checks
The Join button in the top right opens the form. First come country of residence, currency, email, username and password; if the username is taken, the system offers five close alternatives. Step two asks for your address, mobile number and marketing preferences. Step three is the deposit limit, which you set straight away after ticking a box under the disclaimer. Then you can either deposit or skip for now.
British customers cannot deposit or play until their name, address and date of birth are confirmed. Most checks run automatically: details go to third-party services, and external credit or affordability checks are possible. When automation is not enough, documents are requested, with a target of 36 hours to review them:
Identity documents include a valid passport photo page, both sides of an ID card or a photocard driving licence. Proof of address has different age limits depending on the document:
| UK document | Accepted age |
|---|---|
| Bank statement, utility bill, employment contract or payslip showing the address | Last 3 months |
| Payment-card issue letter or catalogue statement | Last 3 months |
| Council tax bill | Current tax year |
| HMRC notice, tenancy agreement, insurance certificate or university admissions letter | Last 12 months |
| Mortgage or home-loan statement | Must identify the account holder and address |
An online statement works if the whole document is legible and shows your full name and registered address. Keep the date and sender’s details visible. A marriage certificate or enrolled deed poll can support a name change. When a driving licence supplies the address proof, that address needs to match the account.
Files go through the uploader on the site, the iOS and Android apps, or by email to [email protected]. A photo from a phone or webcam is fine if it is sharp. Uploads travel over an encrypted connection, documents are stored in a protected data centre, and only the verification team can see them. Repeat requests after verification are routine, and ignoring them blocks deposits, bets and withdrawals.
Ireland has separate product checks from 1 July 2026. Sports verification comes before the first deposit. Casino players can deposit up to €250, but further deposits and play require full verification. Reviews often take a couple of hours; the help page’s target is up to 24 hours. That is a review target, rather than guaranteed acceptance of a document.
An Irish driving licence can prove the address if you consent to using its details. Without suitable licence evidence or that consent, the general terms require two address documents from different providers, issued within six months. A bank statement and a utility bill are examples. Checks completed before July may not meet the new requirements, so an existing customer can be asked for fresh evidence.
Gibraltar and Jersey customers have their name and age checked and cannot withdraw until verification is complete. The operator may later request address, payment or income evidence. An initial identity check does not remove those later checks.
Deposits and payment methods
A UK account has a £2,000 cap on each deposit and may use no more than three active payment methods over a rolling 30 days. Debit cards and e-wallets count. In-shop deposits, prepaid cards and expired cards do not. Those two restrictions do not apply in Ireland. Minimum deposits vary by method.
Pay by Bank and Google Pay each list a £5–5,000 method range, but that does not raise the UK single-deposit cap. A £3,000 payment does not become valid because the wallet supports it. Your chosen personal limit can be lower still. Pay by Bank allows up to three linked bank accounts; that is a separate method rule, rather than three extra slots above the UK payment-method limit.
Credit cards are out: in the UK since 14 April 2020 and in Ireland since 2 November 2021. Since 15 July 2020 UK players also cannot deposit with debit or prepaid cards issued by money service businesses. Every method must be in the account holder’s name, and using someone else’s card or wallet gets the account suspended. Ladbrokes charges nothing to deposit, though a bank or payment provider may.
| Method | Deposit | Withdrawal | Conditions |
|---|---|---|---|
| Visa (debit) | 1–2 minutes | 1–3 banking days; up to 4 hours via Visa Fast Funds | Fast Funds works with eligible cards only |
| Mastercard (debit) | 1–2 minutes | only in some countries | needs a deposit with this card in the last 6 months |
| Maestro | instant | 1–3 business days, 3–5 outside the UK | needs a deposit with this card in the last 6 months |
| Pay by Bank | £5–5,000, usually instant | yes | GBP and EUR only, up to three bank accounts |
| Google Pay | £5–5,000, instant | £5–5,000, to the card behind the wallet | Android |
| Apple Pay | yes | yes | Safari mobile web on iOS only |
| PayPal | 10–20 seconds | after the internal review | GBP and EUR only; needs a PayPal deposit in the last 6 months |
| paysafecard | instant | Yes, after a successful deposit from the same paysafecard account | paysafecard account only, vouchers not accepted since 14 September 2021; names must match |
| Bank transfer | no | £5–250,000, 2–4 banking days | bank account in the same country as the betting account |
How withdrawals work
A request starts under My Account → Banking → Withdraw: enter the amount and pick a method. Every payout is first approved by an internal review team. On weekdays that takes up to 24 hours, and debit card withdrawals are processed at weekends too. The time the cashier shows under each method comes on top of that review, and a bank can stretch crediting to five banking days. Under the terms for Gibraltar and Jersey, funds normally leave at the close of each banking day, though bet validation and security checks can take up to five working days.
Withdrawals return funds to their deposit methods. Suppose you paid in £100 by Visa and £50 by e-wallet, then want £200 sent to the wallet. The first £100 needs to go back to Visa. After that, £50 or more can go to the wallet. A large request may be split between methods, and the finance team can change the route for security reasons.
Visa Fast Funds works with eligible UK and Irish debit or prepaid Visa cards, marked with a stopwatch in the cashier. Approval usually takes around two hours; the overall payout guide is up to four hours. Transfers run 24/7, including weekends. You can request up to five within a rolling 24 hours, so midnight does not reset the count. Amounts above £2,000 or €2,000 need manual checks and fall outside the usual timeframe. Different card and account currencies can also delay payment.
The Gibraltar and Jersey terms add a separate instruction: withdrawals above £5,000 per day go through support. A bank-transfer range of £5–250,000 describes the payment method, rather than permission to submit every amount yourself in one request.
Ordinary Ladbrokes withdrawals have no operator fee; you pay any international bank-transfer costs. The Gibraltar and Jersey contract nevertheless allows a disclosed processing fee for a partial withdrawal of cash committed to an active promotion. Repeated deposits and withdrawals without play can also lead to bank charges being passed on. An ordinary payout and using the account to transfer money are different situations.
The cashier gives the minimum. Amounts below £5 need support, and the field accepts a whole number without commas or decimals. A request may be cancelled for someone else’s payment method, missing photo ID or withdrawing an unused deposit. Payment history shows its status and destination.
Limits, time-outs and income checks
Deposit limits can be set per day, week or month, or all three at once. A decrease applies immediately, while an increase needs confirmation and takes effect after 24 hours. A time-out can last a day, a week, a month or any period up to six weeks, after which the account reopens by itself.
Self-exclusion lasts at least six months. UK customers can choose up to five years or an indefinite period. It cannot be lifted in the first six months. You can exclude from Ladbrokes alone or all Entain brands. The balance is returned within ten working days and marketing stops. Ladbrokes participates in GAMSTOP; [email protected] handles extensions.
The Irish contract refers to a national self-exclusion register that the GRAI will establish. That wording does not confirm that registration is already available. Ladbrokes’ own exclusion is arranged separately, with its chosen duration and brand coverage. The operator can also suspend or close an account when it identifies a risk of gambling harm.
When spending reaches a certain level, Ladbrokes asks how you fund it. Open Banking uses a consent link valid for five days. TransUnion receives one-time access to bank information, rather than permission to move your money. The check does not affect your credit score.
Documents are an alternative: three months of bank statements or payslips, inheritance or property-sale evidence, tax returns or dividend records. Upload them or send them to [email protected] within 28 days. A review usually takes 2–3 business days, though more evidence may be needed. Restrictions can remain while it is unfinished and may also affect other Entain accounts.
A separate team handles income questions at [email protected] or 0808 189 2385. Ordinary payment support may not be able to resolve that request. External help includes GamCare, GambleAware, Gambling Therapy, Gamblers Anonymous and Take Time to Think.
Bonus funds and stake limits
Each player gets one sign-up offer only. All bonuses sit in the Offers section, where you activate, pause or delete them, and Offer History keeps six months of records. A bonus can also be declined at deposit with the More Info / Drop bonus button.
Withdrawal-restricted bonuses are playable immediately but keep winnings locked until wagering is complete. Release-restricted bonuses arrive after the required turnover, sometimes in instalments. Individual offers can also restrict your deposit, so your own funds are not freely withdrawable under every promotion. A missed deadline removes the restricted amount. A withdrawal during an active offer can cancel the bonus and related winnings.
A 1x requirement means turnover equal to the amount specified by the offer. A £20 bonus with 1x needs £20 of qualifying bets, rather than a £20 win. A 10x requirement on that same amount needs £200 of turnover. Playing an excluded game does not advance wagering, even if its stake is paid and lost.
The £2 maximum applies to bonus-fund stakes in the Casino Bonus Wallet. It does not automatically cover every LadBucks reward or other prize. Table games do not count towards welcome-offer wagering. Most casino bonuses exclude all blackjack, baccarat, video poker and Slingo variants, specific roulette games and around thirty slots, including Dynamite Riches and Icy Wilds. Paysafe, Moneybookers, prepaid cards and some debit cards do not qualify for those bonuses unless the specific offer says otherwise.
The UK has a separate online-slot stake limit: £2 for ages 18–24 and £5 from age 25. It applies to cash play too. It does not turn into a blackjack or roulette stake limit. A player whose cash-slot maximum is £5 still cannot stake £5 of bonus funds under an offer capped at £2.
Bonus rules treat low-margin, equal-risk or risk-free bets, hedging, staking half the bonus or more in one bet, and cutting stakes by at least 75% after a win as irregular play. That can trigger a review of the bonus and its winnings. Promotion access can also be restricted on safer-gambling grounds.
Inactive accounts and closure
A UK account becomes inactive after 13 consecutive months without a cash bet. Ladbrokes emails you and tries to return the balance to the last payment method. If that fails, a £3 monthly fee starts after 30 days. Reactivation requires a login plus a deposit or cash bet; simply looking at the account is not enough.
The fee comes only from the betting balance and cannot debit your bank account. It stops when activity resumes or the balance reaches zero, and you can ask support to refund fees already taken. Empty accounts may be closed. In Ireland, 13 months without a bet leads to closure and transfer of the balance to the GRAI’s Social Impact Fund. The UK monthly-fee arrangement is not the Irish rule.
You can close the account yourself on the Service Closure page, either entirely or product by product, for a set period or for good. Open bets stay valid. In the UK a closed product cannot be reopened for 24 hours. Personal data is kept after closure as the law requires, and once an account is blocked you cannot register again.
Complaints and independent decisions
A complaint starts with a live-chat agent or [email protected], then goes to a team manager and finally the complaints team at [email protected]. For UK and Irish accounts, receipt is acknowledged within 24 hours and a final position is due within eight weeks. That clock pauses if the team needs information from you and you have not supplied it.
Dispute correspondence is confidential. You can still share it with your lawyer, a regulator, law enforcement or a dispute resolution service. Publishing it on social media without permission can put the investigation on hold and lead to the account being frozen or closed.
| Account | After the final response | Important condition |
|---|---|---|
| UK | IBAS: www.ibas-uk.com, +44 20 7347 5883 | Submit within 12 months of the dispute arising, rather than the response date |
| Ireland | IBAS; gaming disputes can also go to Gibraltar’s Gambling Commissioner | A breach of the Gambling Regulation Act 2024 can be reported to the GRAI |
| Gibraltar and Jersey | Gibraltar’s Gambling Commissioner | Complete Ladbrokes’ process first |
Keep the account number, payment or round ID, amount and a short description of what happened. Payment receipts, correspondence and screenshots of an error help distinguish a bank delay from an operator refusal and identify the disputed transaction. Irish accounts are governed by Irish law. The UK contract and the contract for Gibraltar and Jersey use the law of England and Wales.
